  • Adult Tutor
    Sometimes even adults need a little extra help! Tutor our adults working toward their GED. Or help them learn how to use a computer or with their computer skills. The opportunities are endless and flexible for your schedule. You can volunteer daily, weekly or monthly.
  • Behind the Scenes
    We welcome people who can provide assistance such as helpting with mass mailings, organizing our donations closet, helping with filing, going through donations from the community, etc. As little as an hour a week will go a long way!
  • Birthday Party Planner
    The Birthday Party Planner will help find sponsors or host a birthday party once a month for the children staying in our Eastern Avenue Apartments. Activities might include: gathering donations for decorations, cake, presents; wrapping and decorating; planning an arts & crafts activity; overseeing the actual birthday party. Volunteer opportunities range from donating supplies (cake, candles, decorations, presents, goody bags, arts & crafts) to being our party coordinator for one or all parties.
  • Donations Coordinator
    Often people have items they want to give away – they just don’t know where to donate it! Help your friends, community, co-workers and neighbors while helping our clients! Coordinate a clothing drive or food drive or toy drive to gather new and gently used items.
  • Friends of RPC
    We are looking for people to be Friends of RPC, to be called upon when some special assistance is needed for any our our annual events and fundraisers.
  • Mentor
    We are always looking for volunteers interested in making a real difference in one of our client’s lives by acting as a mentor. You can mentor a child or an adult and serve as a role model to help them make positive life changes leading to lives full of self-reliance, dignity and hope.
  • Mentoring/Adopt-a-Resident
    We are looking for volunteers to help individual residents in our shelter with resume editing, interviewing skills, and other services that would help them on the road to independence. This can also include meetin and offering support and encouragement.
  • Help Soliciting Donations
    All donations made to our center are tax-deductible and we always need help soliciting donations from local businesses, companies, corporations and other church or community groups. If you are good at fundraising we could definitely use your time and talent.
  • Seminar Host
    Do you have experience, expertise or knowledge you would like to share? We are always looking for volunteers to host seminars to help our clients on their road to self-sufficiency. Example ideas include financial management; budgeting; resume writing; job interviewing skills; how to dress for success; what to look for when finding housing; self-esteem workshops; anger management; healthy eating; proper exercise, etc. If you have a passion for a topic that can help others we are happy for you to share it!
  • Share Your Professional Services
    If you are in a professional field which could benefit our clients, we are eager for your volunteer support! If you are a teacher, volunteer to tutor! Are you a lawyer? Perhaps lend your assistance pro-bono by offering a legal workshop. Are you a counselor? Host a therapy group. Do you teach yoga? Give a free weekly yoga class. Whatever your field we are happy to find an opportunity for you to share your life’s calling and make a tremendous difference giving back to those in need.
  • Silent Auction Help
    In November the Advisory Board at RPC is planning a Silent Auction. In order for it to be a success we need everything from auction items, to guest speakers, caterers, bartenders, and servers. If you have something valuable you would like to donate, or are creative when it comes to thinking of auction items and securing them from the local community we would love your help!
  • Snack Food Drive
    To supplement the meals we give to clients we always need individually wrapped snacks, like crackers, cereal bars, chips, cookies and rasins. Please consider buying some in bulk and donating them to RPC or conducting a Snack Drive.
  • Special Events Coordinator
    We are always looking for volunteers to plan special events for our center. Ideas include: holiday parties; summer BBQ’s; karaoke nights; movie nights; bingo/game nights, etc. Activities could be once a week to once a month.
  • Sponsor a Walker
    Sponsor the registration fee ($15) for one of our low-income Elementary School students participating in our Mini-Walks. Become a corporate sponsor and earn name recognition on the T-shirt, official signage, website and more!!
  • Starbucks Harvest Program
    We are looking for people willing to pick-up baked goods from our local Starbucks store, bring them back to RPC and then inventory and sort them for our clients. This only takes about an half-hour to an hour and can be done anywhere from 1 to 3 times a week.
  • Toiletry Drive
    We are always looking for help from volunteers to host a toiltetry drive; or at our RPC, we need volunteers to help sort the donations and make the welcome bags for our clients.
  • Winter Coat Drive
    During the cold winter months we are always in desprate need of warm winter coats for our adults' both men and women. These coats must be cleaned.
  • Working with Clients
    We're always lookingfor volunteers to host Bingo night, movie night, do arts & crafts, bring in baked goods or make a meal for our center. Any talent or service you can provide we'll work our hardest to match you with a program or create one for you!
  • Youth Tutor
    We are always looking for volunteers to help tutor our children and youth. You can do one-on-one tutoring; host a homework help daily or weekly workshop; or provide extra teaching to help our children in their math, English, science or school prep.
