Loudoun Transitional Program

Officially opened in 1991 under contract with Loudoun County, the Loudoun Transitional Program provides a variety of long-term support services, such as health care, counseling, job assistance and training, financial budgeting and adult education, for homeless women and children. To bridge the transition from crisis or emergency shelter to self-sufficiency and permanent housing, residents may stay on-site in the 44-bed facility, or off-site in one of eight efficiency apartments, for up to two years.

Residents of Loudoun Transitional Program are proudly committed to giving something back to the community that’s giving their families a fresh start. A few years ago, they painted a brilliantly-colored “Under the Sea” wall mural in the community room. And, each summer, young residents roll up their sleeves to collect trash and debris as part of Loudoun County’s Kids in the Community Day.

Close-knit and conscientious, the homeless women and families who reside at this facility share the same goals – to become independent and self-sufficient. Working with case managers, residents develop individual/family plans to help propel them forward on the path to self-reliance.
