Paca House

Offering all the amenities of home in an historic downtown setting, Paca House is a permanent housing initiative that provides support services for low income men and women who were homeless or facing homelessness.

Of the 106 available apartments, there are 76 single room only units (SROs) and 30 efficiencies. Residents in the SROs share kitchens, bathrooms and recreation areas. Residents who are HIV positive, physically challenged or elderly are eligible to reside in a self-contained efficiency. And, additional support services are available to people who are mentally challenged.

Paca House accepted its first residents in December 1996 after extensive rehabilitation of two historic buildings and new construction of a building that connects them. The program is funded in partnership with Volunteers of America Chesapeake, the State of Maryland, the City of Baltimore, The Enterprise Social Investment Corporation, Crestar Bank and HUD.
