Shelter Plus Care Program

 

Located in Lanham, Prince George County, Maryland, Volunteers of America Chesapeake's Shelter Plus Care provides permanent housing, rental assistance and psychiatric rehabilitative services to mentally ill homeless adults and their families. Serving since 1997, 26 clients live in one of Shelter Plus Care’s apartments or townhouses. 

Also serving outside clients in Baltimore, Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in a community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program, Shelter Plus Care helps adults with mental illness reduce symptoms of their psychiatric disabilities and maximize their ability to function successfully in the community.
