District of Columbia Community Living Centers

Located throughout the District of Columbia Volunteers of America Chesapeake's District of Columbia Community Living Centers are group homes for approximately 30 individuals with disabilities.
Since 2007, the ultimate goal of the program is to ensure that individual residents with intellectual disabilities live in a healthy and safe environment, receiving all the necessary services to foster continued development in the most nonrestrictive living arrangement.
Volunteers of America Chesapeake develops supportive services tailored to each individual's needs. Some of the services include training for money management, independent living, cooking, independent travel, adaptive living, behaviorioral support and community integration. In conjunction with assigned Department of Developmental Services Coordinators, residents also receive medical monitoring and follow up as needed.
